Modelcars

I like model-cars, always did, never started collecting like some people do.
I have some but rarely ever "play"with them.
Untill this afternoon where i found some time to experiment some.
Shamelessly promoting Motorized Magazine as well....

I`m trying different angles of my strobe set-up, learning how it behaves and looks, i vary with angles, distance, balance and power settings.
Unfortunately my lens cannot focus very close, it wasn't the goal to get a sharp image, my goal was to learn what angle, what set-up works to make a car or other subject for that matter look cool.
And to promote some...

Simple black piece of paper, 2 gridded Sb28 speedlights and one cool magazine.

Der Pete.
Dropped in tonight, progressed on his backpiece, decided to "take"some initials on his knuckles.
Makes you wonder what it stands for ?

Bumped into this `54 chopped 4-door BelAir wich recently came over, nice car, like it !

Car came from Ohio, previously owned by a member from The Screaming Demons Car Club

Little surpise inside;

Cool !

European cars

Surprised to find a European on my blog?
Not me.
My buddy runs a body-shop and does some amazing stuf to those cars, not really my cup of tea but i like the craftsmanship.
Besides that, i shoot a lot of shit for him.
Was able to make use of his workshop and tools for a long time, and he applied the green metalflake basecoat for my own project.
All about favours !

Shot with 2 bare sb 28 speedlights, cropped and burned a little.
D50 camera, handy sucker wich syncs up to 1/800 with modest power of the speedlights to kill ambient.

New kick-ass book !

Talking about magazines and books, here`s one you should not miss !

Dirk-The Pixeleye- has just released his second photo-book.

Knowing his work it'll be filled to the max with great work, quality work that is, covering cool neck-twisting cars, Kustoms, HotRods and jaw-dropping pin-ups all with the Pixeleye-feel.
Find out more and order your copy at http://www.hotrodempire.de/

The Pixeleye, as seen trough "Becks`" camera.

Motorized Magazine

10:14 PM Limpe Iven 1 Comments

I'm pretty stoked with Sven`s initiative to start a new magazine, even more when being asked to submit something.
I got the sampler issue last weekend and quite frankly i`m amazed with the result, wich is really good.
Can`t wait for the premiere issue.
I believe that it was about time for a photographic related magazine wich covers all the cool stuff being made by people in and around the car and motorcycle related scenes.

Bigtwin Bikeshow 2008

6:26 PM Limpe Iven 0 Comments

This weekend the annual dutch Bigtwin Bikeshow was held.
Visited this show on Sunday.
Find the whole set-up and info here;
www.bigtwinbikeshow.nl/
A good part of this show is the bikeshow-contest, where people can show off their building skills in several categories, best part is to hook up with some people and to have some fun.
I shot some.

Tjeerd`s Yamaha chop, no nonsense, really like this one !

Tjebbe`s true oldskool shovel, best of the oldskool-competition in my opinion.
Looks like he rode out of a 70`s bikermovie and planted that bike here.

Sik was there !
Sik is the man behind the greaseheadquarters-blog, check that s*%t out !
http://greaseheadquarters.blogspot.com/

Robin`s Panhead, second place winner, one of the finest build panheads around town, a very, very clean build.

Krugger and one of his latest creations

For sale, One fin(e) chopper !

Andy, from Flying Choppers, first place winner, heading for the podium to collect his first prize on his very narrow, very detailed panhead.
Rumour`s gone round that het repainted the whole bike before travelling to The Netherlands, firts start was actually done at the show, seconds before he was called to the podium.
Talking about faith...

Early Shovel with decent lines, little too shiny in my opinion, nice anyhow !

Philip form DarkStarCustoms finished his project just in time.
Amazing job and an amazing result considering the time-span in wich he build this bike.

Diestyboy`s Panhead in new colours, different handlebars (what`s with all those panheads these days?)

I believe this was best of show, sorry, i'm not much of a competition guy, the results are not my main interest.

Absolutely the best button of show, Tjebbe`s
Period correct and universal !

Duckman, the man behind www.DBBP.com playing with Andy's Jellyroll, one sweet chopper wich is for sale.
